OSH means Occupational Safety and Health. In other versions it is referred to as OHS (Occupational Health and Safety).
SHE means: Safety, Health and Environment. Also refereed to as EHS or HSE.
In Kenya, OSHA means: Occupational Safety & Health Act which is an Act (Law) of the Parliament of Kenya to Safeguard the Safety, Health and Welfare of persons in workplaces. It was enacted in the year 2007 and it is simply referred to as OSHA 2007. It is enforced by DOSHS
PPE means: Personal Protective Equipment such as safety helmet (hard hat), safety boots/shoes, ear muffs, safety goggles, etc. PPE also includes personal protective clothing such as dust coats, overalls, coveralls, aprons etc.
NEMA means: National Environmental Management Authority which enforces the Environmental Management & Coordination Act (EMCA) of 1999. EMCA requires new projects to undergo Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) or Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) before project commencement conducted by a NEMA registered Lead Expert or a Firm of Experts.. Existing projects undergo annual Environmental Audit.
